AUTHOR OF SEX & THE CITY NOVEL CANDACE BUSHNELL
COMES TO CALGARY FOR THE BUSINESS OF BLISS ON OCTOBER 5, 2009
Critically acclaimed, international best-selling novelist Candace Bushnell, author of Sex and the City, Trading Up, Lipstick Jungle and One Fifth Avenue, will appear at The Business of Bliss, a full-day event that will inspire women to create a life they love.
Calgary, Canada (December 16, 2008) - Candace Bushnell developed the Sex and the City column in 1994 as a thinly-veiled look at her own life (through the voice of her alter-ego, Carrie). The novel of the same name, published in 1996, was the basis for the HBO hit series. Candace Bushnell has a life most would dare to dream, but she had to run a tough marathon before she could slip on a pair of designer stilettos.
Bushnell was born and raised in the small Connecticut town of Glastonbury and attended Rice University. With a dream of writing since she was a young girl, there was a time when this critically acclaimed author was sleeping on a foam mattress - behind in her rent and struggling to make it in Manhattan. Many in the same situation would have simply given up. However, her perseverance paid off - in wonderful ways. She is a self-made woman who stayed true to her love of writing, despite the challenges and against all odds.
Hear from Bushnell first-hand at The Business of Bliss. Her empowering journey is a testament to the extraordinary things that can happen when one is committed to their heart’s desire.
Event Producer, CEO and President of GlindaGirls.com Kari Dunlop has been a fan of inspiring stories since she herself was old enough to get her first library card. What is my purpose? What is it that I really want to do with my life? How can I turn my passion into profits? These are questions I hear over and over.”
Dunlop sees The Business of Bliss as a way for women to reconnect with their own heart’s desire so they too can discover their purpose and live out their passions. These are precarious times. We need everyone doing what they love, and loving what they do.
It’s a mantra that worked for Candace Bushnell. Now, use her experience to help awaken the part of you that has a dream to live, a passion to pursue and a difference to make at The Business of Bliss - October 5, 2009 at the Calgary TELUS Convention Centre.
