Carina Chatlani

Born in Bombay, India 3 year old Carina had her sights set on becoming a doctor, a decision that was enthusiastically supported and encouraged by her family. While most girls wanted dolls and stuffed animals for their birthdays Carina was thrilled to be unwrapping microscopes and petrie dishes. Her passion for plants was also cultivated early on. To this day, she recalls the many kingdom classes of the plants that she memorized on a 6th grade field trip.

However, her zeal for biology didn’t translate into other realms of academia, and upon finding out about her poor grades Carina’s father was quick to send her off to boarding school in London. Her new competitive school environment was a stark contrast to the public school she had been attending in California. The direction of her life was about to change drastically as a result of the death of her grandfather, an Indian diplomat based in Rome who always encouraged Carina to do what she loved. Within 3 days of his funeral she was enrolled at another boarding school in the Himalayan Mountains where Carina found herself sick much of the time. A group of monks in the area were charged with treating the ill students. Feeling better (but not due to the positive aromatic qualities of the herbs!) she became their apprentice and they educated Carina on the healing and spiritual qualities of plants – the science of Aurevyda. Later, at College back in the United States she studied the functional aspects of plants - ultimately realizing how the two are interconnected.

Armed with a degree in Biological Science and Plant Morphology and the intention of going to med school, her father usurped her plans and recruited her to work at his electronics company. While she impressed her father with her abilities to run the company Carina was not happy. Before agreeing to marry her husband she got his word that she could have the freedom to do anything she wanted! While pregnant with her daughter, Carina was also unknowingly in the process of birthing Body Bistro. Her dreams at night would be filled with intuitive feelings and impulses that inspired her to mix up batches of massage oils and masks. The resulting glow would cause friends to ask what she was doing and Carina was soon making gifts of her creative concoctions.

Six years later, Carlina is the heart and soul behind the first ever Aurevydic skin care collection called ASANA SPA | SKIN SYSTEM. Prepared with good intentions with from purest herbal extracts from Burma, Nepal, Tibet, Mongolia and India and natural food ingredients, Body Bistro products are loved by celebrities including Halle Berry, Alanis Morrisette, Cher, Bruce Willis, Queen Latifah and even Paris Hilton!

She is also the most sought-after authority in holistic beauty, organic and lifestyle industries with the media such as Harper’s Bazaar, the WB Television, LA Times, CBS, Lucky Magazine, Fortune, Elle, Glamour, Harpers Bazaar and Extra! TV constantly trusting her words of wisdom on beauty and Ayurveda.
